Fabric Weights and GSM: A Guide to Towel and Mat Quality
- gsm (Grams per Square Metre)
- Lightweight fabrics: 30 – 150 gsm
- Medium-weight fabrics: 150 – 350 gsm
- Heavyweight towels: 500 – 700 gsm
- Super-heavyweight: 700 gsm and above (up to 900–1000+ gsm is common for ultra-luxury towels)
- Plush bath mats: 1000 – 1350 gsm
- Higher gsm means more cotton per square metre – for greater absorbency, softness and durability
- Our towels range from 385 to 710 gsm, with mats up to 1070 gsm for ultimate comfort
